Nissan Skyline Nationals 2008 - Shepparton Victoria Australia

Date: Saturday 26th July – Sunday 27th July
Location: Shepparton, Victoria. 188Km (approximately 2 hours drive) north of Melbourne. Saturday -Venue: Winton Raceway – All model Nissans/Datsuns are welcome on the Winton Track day. Sponsored by AWA. (ALL Pix by TurboX SAU-VIC)
Sunday 9am – 11am Show and Shine and Concourse – Victoria Park Lake

There was a great complement of different Skylines ranging from the early ‘Prince’ Skylines through to R34’s with a few rare Japanese and Aussie variants included.

The RaceTrack only Skylines of Gibson Motorsport and others looked magnificent in the race livery still intact, but with a few modern day concessions!.

There must have been about 100 cars in attendance and it was a pity that the rain decided to come down heavily around lunchtime which dampened things down a bit.
Would have been better for the rain to come down on the Saturday Race Day and the sun to shine on Sunday but typically for these events in winter it was not to be.
At least the guy selling the rubber squeegees made some sales.

I tried one out on my car and it worked very well, but you probably need to finish off with the trusty chamois. As the weather did not look like it was going to clear up and I had taken a lot of photo’s I decided to head off back to Melbourne early.
Unfortunately I did not find out the results of the show judging and Track results but will post them up here when I have them soon.

I cruised up to Shepparton on the rainy Sunday morning after meeting up with “ACHOO” Wayne from SAU-VIC who was in his Nissan 4 Door R33 Skyline waiting at the Mobil Macca’s in Campbellfield. I swear that 4dr R33 looks better than a R33 GTR cruising along the highway to me! It has neatly rounded tight lines complementing the white Mag wheels that sit perfectly inside the filled out guards that give it a very smooth and classy appearance. Should have been in the show but there would have been some tough competition on the rainy day ahead.
